About me
Hi I'm Alan, I am a fully qualified Government Approved Driving Instructor (ADI) and I am passionate about road safety.
I have lived in and around Cumbernauld for the last 30 yrs. I have a daughter and son who are both married.
I have been an HGV mechanic since leaving school and joining my father’s haulage firm. He taught me to drive from the age of 14 and I passed my test 3 days after my 17th birthday, and then passed my HGV class 1 at the age of 21 yrs.
I have worked in Tennents Brewery and with Ryder trucks working my way from mechanic to workshop Supervisor and was a mentor to the Apprentices training scheme, guiding them through their 3years training to become qualified HGV mechanics, which I found very rewarding.
In 2003 I decided on a career change I enjoyed driving and teaching so I decided to train as a driving instructor.
Two years later after training with LDC I finally qualified as a Driving Instructor in August 2005 and became full time in Jan 2006.
I have stayed within the LDC franchise as I have realised how much they have to offer instructors and pupils alike.
My hobbies include showing, breeding and judging dogs, playing golf and football (only watching these days).
Well I hope this gives you a brief Idea about me so please feel free to click here to "Contact me"
